Black Lives Matter
As a Black-owned and operated business, we believe that BLACK LIVES MATTER. We believe in being actively anti-racist. We believe in Black businesses, Black artists, Black entrepreneurs, Black writers, Black activists, Black Educators, Black Scholars, and all Black lives. As Black people, we are tired of the constant and blatant disregard for our lives and we are exhausted of enduring the endless barrage of trauma porn callously showcasing the murders of our people and our blood running in the streets.
As Rihanna said in her speech at the 2020 NAACP Awards, “We can’t let the de-sensitivity seep in. The, “If it’s your problem, then it’s not mine; It’s a woman’s problem; It’s a black people problem; It’s a poor people problem.” They like you? Well, then this is their problem, too. So when we’re marching and protesting and posting about the Michael Brown juniors and Atatiana Jeffersons of the World, tell your friends to pull up.” The call to action is simple. We need others to stand in solidarity with us to enact change. We need more than allies. The word ally implies passiveness and good intention. Good intentions are no longer acceptable. We need action, we need accomplices. We need our non-Black accomplices to pull up and ride with us and for us.
Many Black folks and non-Black, are wondering, “What can I do to enact change?”. We can vote, volunteer, protest, donate, legislate, educate, and organize. We must do everything we can to make our voices heard, our truths told, take a stand against police sanctioned murder and systemic racism.
